Acorn School embarked on a unique journey, the Tomato Project, a story that found its place in the book "Beautiful Stuff from Nature," co-authored by Lella Gandini and Cathy Weisman-Topal. This project not only marked a significant chapter in our history but also exemplified our commitment to innovative and collaborative learning experiences.
At the heart of this endeavor was our close relationship with Lella Gandini, a distinguished professor and a revered figure in the Reggio Emilia approach. Lella played a pivotal role as a liaison for the Dissemination of the Reggio Emilia approach through Reggio Children. She continued to be our mentor, offering guidance and support as we delved into research and worked with children at Acorn School.
Beyond the Tomato Project, Lella remained a cherished mentor, frequently visiting Acorn to share her wealth of knowledge and insights. Her presence provided invaluable support, shaping our educational philosophy and enriching our understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach.
Our collaboration with Lella extended beyond the pages of a book. Together, we engaged in collaborative research, pushing the boundaries of conventional education and exploring new avenues for meaningful learning experiences for children.
